In this weblog, I’m going to talk about an aesthetic town in the Western Ghats of Karnataka known for its alluring beauty. The moment someone hears about going on a trip to this town, a wave of excitement immediately just rushes through them! I don’t think it's way too difficult for you to guess the name of the town I'm trying to talk about. Of course—the town I'm referring to is none other than Chikmagalur, which in the local language means "the younger daughter's town."Local legend has it that the town was awarded as a dowry when the area’s chief got his younger daughter married. Today, it has transformed to be a place without which the list of Karnataka Monsoon Destinations is incomplete and it is there on almost every adventure and nature lover's bucket list.

Chikkamagaluru is a favourite hub for a wide variety of tourists, including nature lovers, thrill seekers, and adventure enthusiasts. It has also got some wonderful temples that attract the family crowds. Not to mention, it's a popular honeymoon spot for newly married couples looking forward to beginning their new journey together. The peak is named in the honour of the revered Sufi saint Baba Budan, who is believed to have introduced coffee to India. Due to its attributions to both Hinduism and Islam religions, Baba Budangiri is viewed as a place of religious tolerance. The peak consists of the Baba Budan’s Dargah, the place of burial and worship of the Sufi Saint Baba Budan and the place around also has several Hindu temples such as the Dattatreya Peetha.
