Overview

The Emerald Pool, also known as Sa Morakot, is one of Krabi's most stunning natural attractions. Nestled in the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park, this breathtaking pool allows visitors to immerse themselves in a tranquil and surreal atmosphere.

The pool's name comes from its brilliant, emerald-green waters, which are both transparent and appealing. This natural wonder is nourished by pure water from the nearby limestone hills, which gives it its distinctive colour and cold temperature. The purity and tint of the water vary according to the time of day and quantity of sunshine, making each visit unique.

The Emerald Pool is around 60 km from Krabi Town, in the Khao Pra-Bang Khram region. It is accessible by vehicle or motorbike, and parking is available at the park's entrance. From there, a well-kept route through a beautiful rainforest leads to the pool, providing an easy and pleasurable trek for people of any age.

Visitors may swim in the pleasant waters of the Emerald Pool, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature. The park also has a network of paths that visitors may use to explore its various flora and animals. One popular approach leads to the neighbouring Blue Pool, a stunning and slightly deeper natural pool.

There is a nominal admission charge to the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park, which goes towards maintaining the amenities and conservation initiatives. Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring swimsuits, towels, and lots of water.

The Emerald Pool is a must-see for anybody travelling to Krabi. Its breathtaking natural beauty, tranquil environment, and convenient location make it ideal for a day of relaxation and exploration in Thailand's rich natural surroundings.
