Dawki River

    Also known as Umngot River, It draws a natural border between India and Bangladesh! Dawki River happens to be one of the clearest rivers throughout the country, SO clear that it makes the boats look like they’re floating.

The river offers boat rides, with the traditional wooden boats, adding to the aesthetics! The river is surrounded by green hills and thick forests, creating a beautiful setting for visitors. There are also small villages nearby, which add to the area's rustic charm.

Dawki is easily accessible from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. The journey to Dawki takes you through winding roads and scenic landscapes, adding to the overall experience.

The best time to visit would be during the dry seasons (November to February), as the no-rainfall will make it as pleasant as it should be.

Though the over-tourism might have affected the cleanliness of the surroundings, it’s still a must visit!
