Darasuram Airavatesvara Temple

    One of the Great Living Chola Temples, the Airavatesvara Temple is situated in the small Tamil Nadu village of Darasuram, close to Thanjavur. It is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This temple, which was constructed in the twelfth century by Rajaraja Chola II, is evidence of the Chola dynasty's outstanding artistic and architectural prowess.
