    One of Asia's oldest libraries, the Saraswathi Mahal Library, is a major reservoir of antiquated knowledge and is situated in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. This library, which was built in the 16th century by the Nayak dynasty and then expanded upon by the Maratha kings, is well known for its enormous collection of manuscripts, rare volumes, and inscriptions on palm leaves. It bears witness to South India's rich literary and cultural legacy.
