Thanjavur Art Gallery

    Situated in the ancient city of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, the Thanjavur Art Gallery is a well-known cultural establishment that highlights the abundant creative legacy of the area. Located inside the Thanjavur Palace complex, a historical and architectural marvel, the gallery was founded in 1951. Traditional South Indian art is the main emphasis of the gallery's collection; in particular, the beautiful Tanjore paintings, sculptures, and other artefacts showcase the artistic prowess of the Chola dynasty and succeeding centuries.
