Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Paro Airport - Transfer to Thimphu

Upon arrival at Paro Airport, complete the immigration formalities and meet your Bhutanese guide.

You'll then be driven to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city.

On the way, make a stop at Chuzom, where the Thimphu (Wang Chhu) and Paro (Pa Chhu) rivers meet.

Here, you can view three distinctive Stupas in Bhutanese, Tibetan, and Nepalese styles.

Upon reaching Thimphu, check in at your hotel. The evening is yours to relax.

Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 2

Exploring Thimphu

After breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thimphu.

Begin with a visit to Kuensel Phodrang, home to the grand Buddha Dordenma statue that offers panoramic views of Thimphu.

Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a Stupa built in 1974 in memory of the third King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, where locals gather for prayer.

Next, explore the Folk Heritage Museum, which offers a glimpse into traditional Bhutanese life through its display of rural artifacts.

Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, one of Thimphu's oldest temples, followed by a trip to the Motithang Takin Reserve, where you can see the takin, Bhutan's national animal.

In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong, an imposing fortress that houses some government ministries, the King's secretariat, and the central monastic body.

Enjoy an overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3

Thimphu-Paro Sightseeing

Have breakfast and depart for Paro.

On the way, stop at Tamchog Lhakhang, a temple built in the 13th century by Thangthong Gyalpo, the famed Iron Bridge Builder.

Upon arrival in Paro, visit Ta Dzong, a historic watchtower overlooking the Paro Valley, now serving as the National Museum.

Next, explore Paro Rimpung Dzong, the "Fortress of the Heap of Jewels," constructed in 1646 under Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Walk down to the traditional Nemi Zam Bridge, also known as Nya Mey Zam Bridge, which connects Paro town to the Dzong.

Conclude your day with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples.

Check-in at your hotel, and enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 4

Paro - Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest)

After breakfast, set out to visit Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest, situated at an elevation of 3,100 meters in the Upper Paro Valley.

According to legend, Guru Rinpoche arrived at this site on the back of a tigress and meditated there.

The hike to the monastery takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, and it is a round trip.

Due to the steep ascent and challenging stairs, the hike may not be suitable for small children or elderly individuals.

After the hike, return to Paro for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Departure from Paro Airport
