Itinerary

Day 1

Starting from Bangalore - Ooty Sightseeing

After arriving in Ooty from Bangalore, we shall start our sightseeing with a visit to the Rose Garden. This beautifully maintained garden is home to a vast variety of roses, with vibrant colors and fragrant blooms that create a stunning display. It's a perfect spot to appreciate nature's beauty.

We shall then check out the Tea Factory & Museum, where you can learn about the tea-making process. The museum offers a glimpse into the history of tea production in the Nilgiris, and you can also sample some freshly brewed tea, making it a refreshing stop on our journey.

Our next destination will be Ooty Lake & Boat House, where we shall go for a peaceful boat ride. The lake, surrounded by eucalyptus trees and greenery, offers a tranquil atmosphere. Boating here is a relaxing experience, allowing you to soak in the natural beauty of Ooty.

We shall go to the famous Botanical Garden, a sprawling area filled with exotic plants, ancient trees, and beautifully landscaped lawns. The garden is a must-see for its rich collection of flora, making it both a delightful and educational experience.

Our final stop for the day will be Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiris. We shall check out the panoramic views from the top, where the surrounding hills and valleys stretch out as far as the eye can see. This spot is perfect for photography and enjoying the cool breeze.

After a full day of sightseeing, we shall return to our hotel in Ooty, where we shall have dinner and chill. An overnight stay in Ooty will recharge us for the next day’s adventures.

Day 2

Coonoor Sightseeing

We shall start our day by going to Ketti Valley Viewpoint. Known as the “Switzerland of the Nilgiris,” Ketti Valley offers breathtaking views of the lush green valley below. The sight of mist-covered mountains and terraced fields makes it a photographer's paradise.

We shall proceed to Sim’s Park, a beautifully landscaped garden in Coonoor. The park is home to a variety of rare plant species, and its natural beauty, with winding paths and vibrant flower beds, makes it a peaceful retreat.

Our next stop will be Lamb’s Rock, a viewpoint that offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys. From here, you can see the Coimbatore plains and the lush forests of the Nilgiri Hills, making it a favorite spot for nature lovers.

Our last stop for the day will be Dolphin’s Nose, another popular viewpoint in Coonoor. The viewpoint is named for its unique rock formation that resembles a dolphin's nose. It offers a spectacular view of the Catherine Falls and the rugged landscape, providing a perfect end to our Coonoor sightseeing.

After a day of exploring Coonoor, we shall return to Ooty, where we shall have dinner and chill at our hotel. An overnight stay in Ooty will prepare us for the final day of our trip.

Day 3

Ooty Sightseeing & Return to Bangalore

On our last day, we shall start with a visit to Kamaraj Sagar Dam. This dam, surrounded by dense forests, is a popular spot for picnics and bird-watching. The peaceful environment makes it an ideal place to relax and enjoy nature.

We shall proceed to the Pine Forest, where tall, straight pine trees create a unique and serene environment. The forest is a popular filming location, and walking through these woods is a refreshing experience, providing a sense of tranquility.

Our next destination will be Wenlock Downs, a vast expanse of rolling meadows that offers panoramic views of the Nilgiris. This spot is perfect for a leisurely walk, and the cool breeze and scenic beauty make it a delightful experience.

Our final stop will be Pykara Falls, where the water cascades down the rocks, creating a stunning natural spectacle. The falls are surrounded by dense greenery, making it a picturesque spot to end our trip.

After completing our sightseeing, we shall check out and begin our journey back to Bangalore, bringing with us unforgettable memories of our Ooty and Coonoor backpacking trip.
