Take some time to capture photographs of the impressive ornate gate that marks your entry into Bhutan.
Afterward, check in at your hotel. The evening is free for you to relax at your leisure.

Day 2Phuentsholing to Thimphu

After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities before heading to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city, located at an altitude of 7,710 ft.
During the drive, make a stop at Kharbandi Goemba, a monastery founded in 1967 by the Royal Grandmother, Ashi Phuntsho Choden.
Situated at an altitude of 400 m, the monastery showcases paintings depicting the life of Buddha, along with statues of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Guru Rinpoche.
From the monastery's garden, enjoy a captivating view of Phuentsholing town and the surrounding plains.
Continue your journey to Thimphu, where you'll observe how the landscape transitions from plains to small foothills and eventually the majestic Himalayan slopes.

After breakfast, embark on a city tour of Thimphu.
Your first stop will be at Kuensel Phodrang, where the towering Buddha Dordenma Statue offers stunning views of Thimphu town.
Next, visit the National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built in 1974 to honor the third King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. This is a popular site for locals to offer prayers.
Continue to the Folk Heritage Museum, which provides a glimpse into the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle and displays artifacts from rural households.
Then, explore Changangkha Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Thimphu, followed by a visit to the Motithang Takin Reserve, where you can see the Takin, Bhutan's national animal.
In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong, an impressive fortress that houses several ministries, the King’s secretariat, and the central monk body.

Day 4Thimphu to Paro with Sightseeing
Thimphu to Paro with Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to Paro, stopping along the way at Tamchog Lhakhang.
This 13th-century temple, built by Thangthong Gyalpo, also known as the Iron Bridge Builder, is situated between Thimphu and Paro.
Continue your journey to Paro. Upon arrival, visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower overlooking the Paro Valley, which has been converted into a national museum.
Then, visit Paro Rimpung Dzong, also known as the Fortress of the Heap of Jewels, constructed in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
Afterward, walk down to Nemi Zam Bridge, a traditional covered cantilever bridge that connects Paro town to the Dzong.
Finally, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan.

After breakfast, you will visit Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest.
This sacred site is located at an altitude of 3100m in the Upper Paro Valley.
According to legend, Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery.
The hike to Taktsang Monastery takes approximately 5 to 6 hours round trip.
Due to the steep ascent and challenging stairs, it is advisable not to undertake this hike with small children or elderly individuals.
