Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Thrissur

Shri Guruvayoorappan

Upon arrival at Cochin Railway Station/Airport, we shall proceed directly to Guruvayoor for a darshan at the famous Guruvayoor Temple,

The abode of Shri Guruvayoorappan, which is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindu devotees. The temple, bustling with devotees from early morning, is a spiritual haven where we shall also witness the images of other deities, including Lord Ganapathy, Lord Ayyappa, and Edathedathu Kavil Bhagavathy.

After completing the darshan, we shall partake in the traditional Kerala-style lunch (Annadanam) served at the temple.

Post-lunch, we shall proceed to Punnathur Kotta or Anakotta (Elephant Fort), located just 2 km from the temple town. Here, we shall marvel at the sight of numerous elephants sheltered under one roof, a unique experience, especially for children.

We shall then visit Mammiyoor Sri Mahadeva Temple, where the main deity is Lord Shiva in the form of Uma Maheshwara.

After our spiritual journey, we shall return to the hotel/resort for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Exploring Thrissur

Vadakkekara Palace

After breakfast, we shall begin our day with a visit to the historic Vadakkumnathan Temple, one of Kerala's largest and most ancient Shiva temples, renowned for its stunning mural paintings. Declared a National Monument by the Union Government, the temple complex spans 9 acres and is the site of the famous Thrissur Pooram festival.

Next, we shall proceed to the Shakthan Thampuran Temple (also known as Vadakkekara Palace), which beautifully blends Kerala’s ancient architectural style with the Nalukettu design. The palace, rich in heritage, houses an elaborate museum that offers deep insights into Kerala's history and culture.

After lunch, we shall visit the Archaeological Museum, a treasure trove of historical artifacts, including a fascinating collection of manuscripts written on dry palm leaves. The museum complex also features a heritage garden, adding to its allure.

Following the museum visit, we shall explore the Thrissur Zoo, located within the same complex. This zoo is a must-visit for animal lovers, offering a diverse array of fauna and an enriching experience.

We shall return to the hotel/resort for an overnight stay.

Day 3

Thrissur to Athirappally

Athirapally Waterfall

After breakfast, we shall proceed to the breathtaking Athirappally Waterfalls, famously known as the “Niagara Falls of India.” To reach this stunning natural wonder, we shall take a short walk through the Athirappally Forest, home to many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna.

Upon arrival, we shall be greeted by the magnificent sight of crystal-clear waters cascading amidst lush greenery—a perfect destination for trekking and nature enthusiasts. The waterfalls here flow through the Vazhachal forest toward the Arabian Sea.

After lunch, if time permits, we shall visit the Vazhachal Waterfalls, another popular tourist spot in the area.

We shall then return to the hotel/resort for an overnight stay.

Day 4

Athirappally to Valparai

Aliyar Dam

After breakfast, we shall check out and drive to Valparai. Our first destination will be the Aliyar Dam, the second deepest dam in Asia, located 27 km from Pollachi at the foothills of Valparai. The dam is an ideal picnic spot, featuring a park, an aquarium, and a mini theme park maintained by the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Corporation.

We shall then visit Monkey Falls, a majestic waterfall located near Aliyar Dam on the Pollachi-Valparai road, nestled in the Anamalai Hills.

After lunch, we shall proceed to Loam’s View Point, situated at the 9th hairpin bend on the Pollachi-Valparai route. From here, we shall enjoy a panoramic view of Aliyar Dam, the surrounding Western Ghats mountains, and Pollachi town.

We shall return to the hotel/resort for an overnight stay.

Valparai to Coimbatore Departure

After breakfast, we shall check out from the hotel/resort and proceed to Coimbatore Railway Station/Airport for departure, bringing our memorable journey to a close.
