The Bhrigu Lake Trek in Himachal Pradesh takes you on a thrilling tour across the Indian Himalayas' magnificent sceneries. Bhrigu Lake, located at an altitude of around 14,000 feet (4,267 metres) above sea level, is named after the legendary sage Bhrigu, who is thought to have meditated nearby.
The hike begins in the charming village of Gulaba, near Manali, and serves as the base camp. Trekkers leave Gulaba and ascend through deep oak, pine, and cedar forests, gradually gaining altitude as they pass through magnificent meadows covered with colourful alpine flowers in the summer. The trek provides stunning vistas of snow-capped peaks, including Hanuman Tibba and the Seven Sisters.
As hikers ascend, they pass through alpine meadows where shepherds graze their sheep throughout the summer months. The trail involves a variety of challenges, including steep ascents and rough terrain, but the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile.
Trekkers return to Gulaba after enjoying the calm serenity of Bhrigu Lake, capping off an adventure-filled expedition rich in natural beauty and spiritual meaning. The Bhrigu Lake Trek is a remarkable experience that draws explorers and nature lovers from all over the world to Himachal Pradesh to enjoy the Himalayas' pristine grandeur.
The following detailed itinerary provides a day-by-day breakdown of your exciting Bhrigu Lake trek. From your arrival to the moment you return home, we've outlined your activities and experiences to make the most of your trek. Let's dive into the specifics.
Day 1

Trekkers will receive a briefing when they arrive at the Manali campground. The drive to Kulang, the trek's starting location, will begin after you pick up your packed lunch.
You will first travel through dense forest to Moridugh, and then ascend along the Moridugh Route.
The trail climbs the mountain via woodlands, crossing Chor Nallah and Kohli Nallah multiple times.
When you arrive at your campsite in Moridugh, you will be assigned tents.
Enjoy some free time in the evening or take a walk about the campsite to get a better sense of the surroundings and acclimatise.
Enjoy nighttime stargazing and connect with nature.
The campsite will provide dinner at night, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 2

Get up early and enjoy a beautiful sunrise while eating breakfast. After carrying your packed lunch, you'll begin your walk.
Today, you'll walk over high plateaus above the Kullu Valley and along stunning mountains to the famed Bhrigu Lake.
The three-hour journey will take us to Bhrigu Lake, where you may eat lunch. Spend some time sitting close to this sacred lake, taking in the panoramic views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar peaks directly in front of you.
There should be vigilance to avoid littering, and bathing in this sacred lake is prohibited. Several accounts suggest that Rishi Bhrigu meditated here. Many people see it as a sacred site.
We'll descend to the Moridogu campsite after lunch, relax for the rest of the day, and spend the night there.
Day 3

Following breakfast, we will walk directly to Kulang.
The trek is simple because it drops steadily throughout and takes 3–4 hours to reach Kulang.
Your adventure comes to an end when a van brings you to Manali from Kulang village.
Return home with fantastic recollections of this incredible trekking journey.

Bhrigu Lake is a high mountain lake located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located at an altitude of around 4,300 meters (14,100 ft) above sea level. The lake is named after the sage Bhrigu, a revered figure in Hindu mythology, who is said to have meditated at this tranquil spot.
The Bhrigu Lake trek is considered moderately challenging. Although not extremely strenuous, it involves climbing to high altitudes, which can be challenging for some people, especially those who are not used to trekking in the mountains.
The trek usually takes around 3 to 4 days to complete, depending on the starting point and pace of the tour group.
The best time to trek Bhrigu Lake is generally from May to June and from September to October. In these months, the weather is mostly clear, and the conditions are favorable for hiking.
As of my last update, no permits were required for the Bhrigu Lake trek. However, it is always a good idea to check with local authorities or tourist agencies for any updated regulations.
While it is possible to trek to Bhrigu Lake on your own, it is generally safer to go with a knowledgeable guide or as part of a group, especially if you are not familiar with the area or have no experience in high-altitude trekking.
The Bhrigu Lake Trek is of easy to moderate difficulty. Including some steep ascents, this trek can be easily completed by first-timers.
