Trek Altitude, Distance, and Trail Details

Ready to scale the heights? The Chopta Chandrashila Trek touches 13,100 feet, so you might want to practice your victory pose for those summit photos! This trail is about 12 kilometers long — so not quite a marathon- but it does give your legs a good feel. You'll get some meadows, forests, and some rocky paths too. It's kinda like being on a roller coaster but then without the seatbelts —just fantastic views and some hearty mountain air!

What does the 3D/2N-day trek look like?

Travel overnight from Delhi to Chopta (500 km) and rest at camps at Chopta, under the star-studded sky. After getting fresh the next day, explore the beauty of the meadows and prepare for the trek from Chopta to Chandrashila Peak. You will get to see brilliant views around during this climb, and you will feel so good standing on the summit. From there, get yourself absorbed in the amazing views and descend to camp to celebrate your success. The last day is spending your time packing your luggage and proceeding towards Sari Village to see the Deoriatal Lake. Spare some time to relax at the lake and feel the calmness around you while you get ready to go back to Delhi, with lifelong memories of the Himalayas. Standing on top of Chandrashila, you will feel like you just unlocked the ultimate level of adventure. It's so epic that even your selfies will look like movie posters. The wind feels like a high-five from the Himalayas, and the sense of accomplishment is going to be plastered on your face from ear to ear. It's a feeling of pure, unadulterated triumph-like you've just proved to yourself that, yes, you can indeed reach the top of the world!

Weather conditions and the best time to trek

Not so much, as the slick trails and slippery slopes can quickly turn your trek into a wrestling match with the Himalayas!

How to prepare for the trek by maintaining the right fitness levels?

Want to conquer the Chopta & Chandrashila Trek? Be at your best. Start with cardio exercises that increase your heartbeat, such as jogging, cycling, or dancing in your living room! After that, work your legs out with squats and lunges since you are going to use them on those thrilling ascents. Finally, get comfortable on sloping surfaces, and climb hills or stairs as it will emulate the slope on the trek. Hydrate yourself with ample amounts of water. Lastly, mentally prepare yourself for a bit of altitude change and chilly weather. Believe it or not, the better you prepare, the better you enjoy!
