Has your monday blues followed you to the weekend? The Kabbala durga trek would be your absolute cure. This small yet majestic hillock will take your breath away. The trek lasts for 2-3 hours for a good 6km (both ways). The trail is a well marked path between rocky terrains and steep stones.
The highlight of this trek covers a small temple and a ruined fort on the peak of the hill. Fun facts include that this fort was used a as prison by the Mysore rulers! Cloaking ancient history unto itself, the Kabbala durga carries anecdotes to the Kings, British generals and much more.
As a moderately difficult climb, the peak on top is worth your weekday blues. With the wind in your hair, you’d forget what a sweaty hike you had! Standing 2090 ft, the clouds setting in, the views below would look greener than ever. You can explore the still existing fort on top and learn a lot while having fun. As a monsoon trip, the slippery rocks might be a little hard, hence we recommend some sturdy trekking shoes and a pole too!
