On reaching Dehradun, move towards Sankri early in the morning which is part of the Kedarkantha Trekking Tour Package.
The mesmerizing 7-8 hours drive will take one through beautiful locations like Mussorie, Yamuna River, and magnificent pine forests.
On reaching Sankri, spend time exploring this sweet village and further prepare for the trek.

Sankri to Juda-Ka-Talab (2773 m above Sea Level)

The day of trekking starts early with a nutritious breakfast in Sankri village.
After that, we commence the steep trek to Juda-ka-Talab, which is about 4 km in length. It sits at an altitude of 9,100 feet, so the climb upward becomes quite challenging.
Fallen maple and pine leaves tint the trail in a golden hue to create a beautiful pathway.
Along the way, we will cross a few bridges that cut through dense woodland. The alluring scenery makes each step worthwhile.
Keep a look out for hares, langurs, and other beautiful harmless animals that dot the landscape.
The closer one approaches to the lake, the calmer the sounds become, including the chirring of the rills and the rustling of the leaves underfoot.
We will also observe delightful sights of country life with women cutting wood and men caring for their herding stock against the magnificent backdrop of the mountains.
On reaching Juda-ka-Talab, one can see a fairytale land under the bright blue sky. A delicious lunch awaits, followed by group activities designed to boost morale and enthusiasm.
End the day with a great meal and camp under the stars, soaking in the tranquility of this beautiful setting.
Juda-Ka-Talab to Kedarkantha Trekking Base (3413 m above Sea Level)

After breakfast, we start the 4 km-long excursion. The trail is pretty straightforward, though steep at times, it turns out to be an overall easy walk.
While approaching the Kedarkantha Trekking base camp, the area opens out onto small lakes and an environment absolutely pollution-free and free from human disturbance.
The path winds its way through oak-laden woodlands, vast meadows, and other signs of faraway life.
The view of the Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Ranglana, and Kala Nag ranges bending into views signals our proximity to the base camp.
There, we are treated to a hot meal to refresh ourselves. It's an evening of fun activities—group games or an acclimatization walk just to familiarize you with the area and environment.
Wind down with evening snacks and soup after this. Enjoy some free time to unwind, relishing it. Dinner will be early, as the journey next morning for trekking will start by 3 am.
Kedarkantha Trekking Base Camp to Kedarkantha Peak (3810 m above Sea Level); Descent to Hargon Camp/Juda Lake Campsite

This day is going to be the summit day of Kedarkantha, where we will be going up by more than 1,250 feet and descending down to Hargaon village, which will take 6-7 hours even though the trail ahead is rough.
The day starts early at 2 or 3 AM, whereby from Kedarkantha Summit we get to witness the beautiful sunrise. After a good breakfast, we start the ascent.
Let's start with the thick oak trees. After that, walking becomes a bit easier, and the uphill climb is a pleasant experience. As we approach the top, the climb starts to get a little steep.
Watch the spectacle of thirteen Himalayan peaks soaking in the glory of the sun. The descent journey has a lot to offer, as we miss much while ascending, such as frozen streams and chances of more wildlife and flora encounters.
We have our lunch at the campsite of Kedarkantha Trekking discussing a hundred things amid the beauty of scenes we could take in. After that, we continue our journey down to Hargaon camp.
We set up our tents, have dinner around the campfire, share experiences with others, and then straight to bed.
Hargaon Camp to Sankri; Head back to Dehradun

On the last day, you descend from Hargaon Camp from an altitude of 8,900 feet to 6,400 feet. The distance of the 3.5-kilometer track is covered in 2-3 hours, or maybe a little more.
After breakfast, you soon set forth along a metalled path, first through pine forests, which you followed by the side of a fresh-water stream.
Further up, you hit a ridge, from where the breathtaking view of the Har Ki Dun Valley is visible. This valley is also popularly called the Valley of Gods.
The scenery is a recharge to our senses. Signs of settlement can be perceived as we get closer to Sankri. We hope to be in Sankri by around 11 AM as we descend the final 2,500 feet through dense pine forests. After a short visit to Sankri, we will return to Dehradun taking along wonderful memories and experiences.
