Z-Point

    One of the hidden treasures of the beautiful hill station of Chikmagalur, the Z-Point, offers many picturesque views of the Western Ghats. Z Point is about 1,200 metres high and is one of the popular treks in the region; one of the reasons being the silence it offers to its trekkers. The trek to Z Point begins from the village of Kemmanagundi and takes through dense green forests, small rivulets flowing beside the walkway, and surprise you with the most rigid climbs and steep descents. The most popular time frame to visit the Z-Point are during sunrises and sunsets: early in the morning, the whole sky is coloured in reds and pinks with the sun shining its light onto the sky, creating a warm, faintly beautiful colour. During sunsets, however, it’s dark, and shadows stretch out from the axis. The best part about the sunset is how the light falls onto the hills, creating beautiful, stunning images and photographs. The best season to explore the Z-Point is the post-monsoon season from September to February. Z Point is the perfect spot to go trekking to appreciate the beauty of nature.
