Day by Day

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival & Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

We shall arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, where you will receive a warm welcome by a representative from Ceylon My Dream (Pvt) Limited.

We shall then head to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Established in 1975, this orphanage is home to numerous rescued elephants. We shall witness the daily activities of these gentle giants, including feeding and bathing. If the timing is right, we will enjoy a special show and see the elephants frolic in the nearby river.

After our visit to Pinnawala, we shall continue our journey to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka.

In the evening, we shall check out the vibrant Kandy Cultural Show, a performance showcasing traditional Kandyan dance with colourful costumes and rhythms passed down through centuries-old rituals.

We shall stay overnight at a hotel in Kandy.

Day 2

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, we will visit the famous Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, originally a pleasure garden of a Sri Lankan king and later expanded by the British. We will check out the extensive collection of rare plants, trees, and vibrant flowers spread over 147 acres.

We shall continue to Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as ‘Little England’ for its colonial charm. We will explore its lush tea estates, Lake Gregory, and the picturesque old-world architecture, including the iconic Grand Hotel.

We shall stay overnight at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 3

Climbing Sigiriya Rock & Visiting Dambulla Cave Temple

On this day, we shall head to Sigiriya Rock, the most visited historical landmark in Sri Lanka. The fortress complex is surrounded by intricate gardens, water channels, and remnants of an ancient palace perched atop the rock.

Next, we shall visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave complex in Sri Lanka, featuring awe-inspiring Buddha statues and colourful murals dating back to the 2nd century BC.

We shall return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4

Kandy & Spice Garden

After breakfast, we shall proceed to Kandy, the spiritual heart of Sri Lanka. Our first stop will be the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses the sacred tooth of the Buddha, a revered site for Buddhists worldwide.

On the way, we will visit a Spice Garden, where we can learn about the rich history of Sri Lankan spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. This visit offers a unique insight into the spice industry, one of the country's oldest trades.

In the evening, we shall enjoy another Kandy Cultural Show, watching traditional Kandyan dances and acrobatic performances that have been integral to Sri Lankan culture for centuries.

Day 5

Temple of the Tooth Relic & Peradeniya Botanical Garden

Our morning starts with a visit to Sri Dalada Maligawa, one of the most sacred Buddhist temples in the world, where the tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined. This temple is of great cultural and religious significance.

Next, we head to the Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya, known for its vast collection of over 4,000 plant species. We shall explore its immaculately kept grounds, perfect for nature lovers.

Day 6

Departure & Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Before departing for the airport, we shall stop once more at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. We will have a chance to interact with the elephants, watching them bathe, feed, and play, especially the adorable baby elephants.

We shall then head to the airport for departure, marking the end of our amazing tour.
