India Gate

    Situated in the centre of India's capital city, India Gate is a huge war memorial and one of the city's most recognisable features. India Gate, created by Sir Edwin Lutyens and finished in 1931, honours the 82,000 Indian troops who lost their lives in the Third Anglo-Afghan War and World War I. With its 42-meter height and sandstone construction, the tower exudes a grand and serious aspect.
