Neil Island

    A quaint island in the Andaman and Nicobar is the Neil Island. It is is situated in Ritchie’s Archipelago, about 35 km away from Port Blair. With the most beautiful white sandy beaches, the Neil Island is a real nature’s wonder! Covered with the most breathtaking coral reefs and tropical forests. It has natural coral formations throughout the island. The friendly people here are the most hospitable you’d know. It’s an offbeat island as the tourists visit all the other islands that makes Neil island an obscure one! A laid back spot, for whoever is chasing solitude. Ironically this island is a home to lot of people who enjoy a slow paced life. Organic Farming is a wide spread occupation here because of the nutrient rich soil. The Neil island is also called the vegetable bowl of the Andaman ! The occupants here lead a simple, yet elegant life. Their luxury would be the sunsets at the beach and their quaint houses with white sand and blue beaches as their backdrop! It is a three point beach. The points being the Bharatpur beach, Sitapur beach and Ramnagar beach (Named after characters from the great Indian Mythology Ramayana). The activities in Neil island are a lot of options; Scuba diving, snorkeling, glass bottom boat ride, watch the sunset, treks and etc.! You can reach the island by ferry boats, either private or government ones since its only 37 km from Port Blair. It overall is a wonderful experience if you’re in search of some soul searching and you might just find it amongst the palm trees, coral reefs and blue beaches!
