Swiftlet Cave

    Nestled in the lush greenery wilderness of Munnar, the Swiftlet Cave is a natural wonder. Located in the vicinity of the Lockhart Estate, Swiftlet Cave is home to the rare Swiftlet birds. Swiftlets are cave-dwelling creatures, making the caves of Munnar a perfect place of abode for them.

To reach the cave, one must embark on a trekking expedition through dense forests and challenging terrains. Once you reach the entrance of the cave, you are provided with ropes to make a safe descent into the heart of the cave, where you will find numerous Swiftlets with their nests. The view inside the cave makes you feel like you have stepped into the set of an Indiana Jones movie.

A journey to the Swiftlet Cave is a bird enthusiast’s paradise, as you not only witness the majestic Swiftlet birds in their habitat but also many other vibrant species of birds all along the trekking trail to the cave. You can visit the Swiftlet Cave from 6 AM to 5:30 PM all days of the week to immerse yourself in a unique adventure.
